About lipofilling and its different techniques (SNIF and Nanofats)

History and evolution:

Filling techniques with fat are now well known to us and are used to treat facial volume loss in particular. These lipofilling techniques have evolved towards the use of smaller and smaller fat cells in order to reduce potential irregularities that somewhat alter the result.

Among the techniques used are microfilling, also known as SNIF (Sharp Needle Intradermal Fat Grafting), which uses smaller fat cells injected into the dermis using micro-canulas to fill deep wrinkles: the fat is then used as a real permanent "filler" unlike hyaluronic acid, which is absorbed after about 10 months. The treatment of the free edge of the lips (vermilion) and the increase in volume and better definition of the philtrum (upper lip) is also accessible via this treatment.

Nanofats are the ultimate evolution of microfilling and then serve as a true living mesotherapy composed of stem cells. These stem cells not only have the ability to rejuvenate the skin but also to retain their potential for the development of fat cells, hence their potential use in mesotherapy to improve the complexion, texture, reduce hyperpigmentation and reduce fine lines!

Use of nanofats in medicine and plastic surgery:

Nanofats, in view of their regenerative power through stem cells and the growth factors they contain, can be used in the following indications: correction of vicious or poor quality scars in conjunction or not with surgery, treatment of fine lines, reduction of melanocytic hyperpigmentation, and/or dark circles, improvement of neck and décolleté skin texture, improvement of hand skin quality, breast reconstruction (nanofats then serve to improve vascularization of irradiated skin and then allow the application of a skin expander 6 months after the treatment).

Processing methods:

Since nanofat treatment is technically inspired by lipofilling, these 2 treatments can most often be performed together, but the treatments can be separated from each other.

The operation is performed under local anesthesia, possibly assisted by the injection of a powerful relaxant. The surgeon removes the fat from the abdomen and/or flanks, which ensures the best fat in terms of quality. A small incision is made in the abdomen and then closed with 2 very small threads that will leave no or very few traces. The fat is then prepared to be used as a "permanent filler" for volume losses in the cheekbones, temples, region around the eye but also in nasolabial folds, bitterness folds or chin. Then, the surgeon prepares the nanofats in order to perform a mesotherapy treatment that will be effective on the previously described areas: dark circles for the orbital region or other hyperpigmentation areas, upper and lower lips for fine lines, hands and décolleté if necessary. The result of lipofilling is immediately visible while the nanofat treatment will be most effective 6 to 8 months after the treatment. The treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis.
